Apple Creator Studio is getting AI assistants, built-in MotionVFX tools for Final Cut Pro, and generative image editing in a November update. The changes span the subscription's video, music, image-editing, and productivity apps and will be free for existing subscribers.

Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Compressor

Final Cut Pro for Mac will integrate MotionVFX directly, giving editors thousands of templates, graphics, titles, and transitions, along with rotoscoping, tracking, and color-grading tools. Apple's Content Hub is also coming to Final Cut Pro with curated stock videos, photos, and backgrounds.

Images on the timeline can be opened in Pixelmator Pro, edited, and saved back into the project automatically without reimporting. Final Cut Pro also gains text-to-image generation, style adjustments, more keyframe easing options, the ability to disconnect clips from the primary storyline, and 23 additional transcription languages.

Motion adds built-in MotionVFX plug-ins for color grading, 3D camera tracking, and one-click selection. It also gains image generation and editing from text, round-trip editing with Pixelmator Pro, refined keyframe easing, a Displacement filter, and an interactive demo project. Compressor will be able to encode Cinematic mode footage recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

Generate Fill in Pixelmator Pro

Pixelmator Pro's Generate Fill lets users circle an area or select it with tools such as Free Selection, Quick Selection, and Magnetic Selection, then describe a change. Apple says the generated content matches the surrounding lighting, perspective, and texture, with Super Resolution used to upscale the result. Edits can be merged into existing layers or added as new layers with intelligent masks for further adjustments.

Logic Pro's Assistant and Sound Browser

Logic Pro for Mac gains a beta assistant powered by Apple-built models and OpenAI. It can help navigate production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a prompt, or refine a project. The assistant requires an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac running macOS 27 Golden Gate or later and is available only in U.S. English.

A redesigned Browser on Mac brings loops, instruments, effect patches, and other sounds together, including a Splice library. On-device music analysis classifies and tags imported sounds, while dragging in a loop can surface matching audio. Stem Splitter adds drum separation so producers can isolate, replace, or rebalance drum parts without the original multitrack recordings.

Logic Pro for Mac and iPad also gets a Liquid Glass design. A new Sergio George Producer Pack includes his piano sound and Latin jazz and salsa loops, with percussion, brass, and bass parts. Voice Memo Studio Sound can reduce room ambience and background noise in recordings made on supported iPhones, with further adjustments available in Logic Pro.

AI Assistants and MCP in Productivity Apps

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers gain their own document-aware assistants built on Apple models and OpenAI. Keynote's assistant can help design and animate slides; Pages can draft, restructure, and refine text; and Numbers can organize data, calculate results, suggest charts with a one-tap preview, and build custom tables using world knowledge.

These assistants are U.S.-English betas requiring an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later. Model Context Protocol, or MCP, support on macOS 27 or later will let external AI agents and tools read content, make edits, and automate actions directly inside the three apps.

Their Content Hub adds stock video alongside new premium themes and templates. Keynote also introduces Keynote Interchange Format (.keyx), an open JSON-based bundle format for external tools, developer workflows, and AI agents.

Freeform adds reusable text styles and custom or preset board background colors. Its round-trip Pixelmator Pro image editing and text-to-editable-shape generation are due in December.

Subscription Pricing and Availability

Apple Creator Studio costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the U.S., with a one-month trial for new subscribers. College students and educators can subscribe for $2.99 per month or $29.99 annually, subject to verification. The standard subscription supports Family Sharing for up to six family members; the education offer does not extend to a Family Sharing group.

Purchases of a new Mac or qualifying iPad can include three months free for eligible new or returning subscribers, subject to offer restrictions. The qualifying iPad must have at least 6GB of memory and an A16, A17 Pro, or M-series chip or later. The offer cannot be reused by an account or family that has already redeemed a three-month Creator Studio trial, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled.

Separate one-time Mac purchases remain available: Final Cut Pro at $299.99, Logic Pro at $199.99, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, and Compressor at $49.99 each, and MainStage at $29.99. Free versions of Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform will continue to be available.
