Nowadays, thanks to the digital technologies we have so many different opportunities. As a student, I really like to spend my time with friends, and I don't want to compromise my social life and education. Luckily professionals at www.custom-paper-writing.org may become a great writing helper not only for me, I can recommend their help to everyone. Think about this valuable opportunity.

somehow I managed to flash 06.15 baseband from 05.16 on my 3GS, but any attempt to downgrade 06.15 to 05.13 ends with a redsn0w message "the connected device doesn't support untethered options". any idea what could it be and whether there is any runaround would be greatly appreciated

Great tutorial thank you for you hard work. How ever I can not get my 3gs to downgrade. I have tried just about every version of redsn0w with every possible firmware. currently stuck with iOS 4.1(8b117) with baseband 06.15.00 my phone is bell 3GS Model MC637C and serial 86023F0UEDG. Currently unlocked and jailbroken with redsn0w latest and ultrasn0w latest. I haave been pulling my hair out for a week now. I can reinstall the 06.15.00 with no issues and everything seems to work fine including the gps?? but when I try to downgrade redsn0w starts the exploit then crashes saying downgrade failed?? Anyone have any ideas?

Get the latest version of redsnow, redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3 and don't select any ipsw, it will only detect it. I had 4.3.3 and 06.15.00 installed on my 3gs and I just checked downgrade the baseband and unchecked all other options and it works. hope it helps.

I'm not able to downgrade iPhone 3G BaseBand because redsn0w don't allow that, also 5.1.1 is not available for that model.

Oh oh Thank you Thank you Thank you so much!!!!
I did it with the redsn0w_mac_0.9.14b2 and it worked beautifully!
(I never tried 0.9.14b1, I went straight to using b2) ;-)
I was surprised I didn't even have to re-sync or anything, not even having to install ultrasn0w again. It just worked. Wonderful!
I have had huge arguments with AT&T before (who turned out to have an illegal (!!) secret deal with Apple, and I talked to one supervisor after the other, and I threatened them to expose the illegal issues, since my husband is a U.S. lawyer - and since they admitted it (!) - but as i understand, you can now unlock with AT&T, so I'll call them again -- I'm a Swede btw so I need it unlocked).
I am so very, very grateful. Thank you so incredibly much!

Hey guys, if you're on an unjailbroken 05.16.05 3GS and want to unlock, do I first have to jailbreak and upgrade to the iPad baseband then jailbreak again with this process to downgrade to 05.13.04?
Thanks in advance.

For people with 3GS like me who could not downgrade their baseband with redsn0w 9.14b1, a new version has now been released (9.14b2). This should fix the 3GS downgrade problem.

Same here guys: I'm using iphone 3GS , SN 85929.
I had my iphone jailbroken and unlocked using SAM with ios 5.1 and BB 05.16.05.
What I did was first to update to a restored ipsw 5.1.1 and then to upgrade my BB to 06.15.00. All that went well. When I came now to downgrade the BB it didn't work and I stay on the 06.15.00!!! needless to say that I get searching for my network and then no service! so not only I can't downgrade my BB but also I've lost my Unlock and I can't use my phone.
Please Help

Me, you and several others had the same problem. It seems that the downgrade process corrupts something. If you now use redsnow again and upgrade to ipad baseband, searching will stop and it will get signal again. I ahve tried and tested it about 5 times now.
Clearly, new redsnow has been released without any testing on 3gs so it just does not work with 3gs

I agree to this. Just tried it and my phone is working again and stopped searching for a network. Thanks a lot Scoot_eruk!
My question now is can I install Ultrasn0w on my 3GS - 5.1.1 - 06.15.00 in order to unlock.

So far, having looked at all the sites, it looks like no one including myself is able to downgrade BB if the ios version is 4.2.1!
Is there anyone on ios 4.2.1 who has managed to downgrade Baseband?

I don't think its iOS version related to be honest!
There are a lot of people (including myself) that have tried 20+ times to downgrade using different tips, tricks and varying iOS versions on the dev team blog without any success, so it appears the current tool will only work for some versions of iPhone's possibly an issue with boot loader versions etc causing the issue.
Musclenerd even thanked one guy for lending him a phone to test the downgrade on, so this is probably quite telling!
If the existing tool was not extensively tested on differing iPhone models, that probably explains why we are seeing mixed results of success.
Don't forget the iPhone 3GS has been manufactured for a few years now and is quite varied in its own right throughout those manufacturing stages!
I would just hold fire for a while and hope they release a revised tool that works reliably across the many variations of handset.

Worked well for me with 3GS newer (fixed) model on 4.3.3.
It was already unlocked and I didn't have to unlock it again. Nothing was deleted.
The GPS is back to being accurate.

No it won't wipe your iPhone, it just flashes the baseband. even if you jailbreak using this version of Redsn0w it won't wipe your iPhone.

Do you have to be on the latest firmware? I'm on 5.0.1 on my 3GS, sometimes it doesn't recognize the phone is in DFU mode, and other times when it does recognize it, it says something like this phone isn't eligible for untether or something like that. Am i doing something wrong?

First attempt hung at reboot(very typical behavior of my phone). Second attempt stalled, but then nudging along by manually select "next" made it progress till the end at reboot. Rebooted, but the Redsnow screen screen said it was not avaible for untether reboot. I kept pressing next and then it rebooted with jailbreak screen. One more reboot, then activation screen appeared. It was no big deal since I have also an ATT account. System showed software at 5.0.1 and baseband at 05.13.04. Success!

You only need to observe all the failures people are having over on the official page to see redsn0w 0.9.14b1 is not successful with all iterations of the 3GS.
...and you have the cheek to call me stupid, grow up and do some research before you shout your mouth off in future!

Didn't work on my iPhone either.
Phone: 3GS
Serial: 88027
Baseband: 06.25
iOS: 5.1.1
Followed guide exactly, phone did everything the guide said it would do including taking about 4-5 mins to flash the baseband. I saw the end of the end of the flash cycle and times it on the computers clock. The phone rebooted but was still on 06.15 :(
Had already tried the procedure 8 times when the phone was on iOS 5.0.1.
I've tried all the tips on the dev team blog including clearing the cache in Redsn0w first and starting afresh.
There is 100% something wrong with the current version of the tool "redsn0w_mac_0.9.14b1" that does not actually downgrade all iPhone 3GS phones!!

Dave - June 18, 2012 at 4:48pm
By the way, if you follow the above instructions to the letter, take note of step 8.
Cydia is not checked, so when the process fails to downgrade your baseband, You have no Cydia to be able to install ultrasn0w and at least get your phone working on 06.15. Rerunning Redsn0w to try and install Cydia won't let you because it does a check and say's your already jailbroken with "Rocky Racoon".
This is another small bug that needs to be addressed, because there doesn't seem to be a way to force Redsn0w to re-jailbreak rend install Cydia, there needs to be a way of overriding the check with an Option + Jailbreak button or something!!

Actually upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 is a real pain because Redsn0w won't let you do anything once its jailbroken the phone, it just says its already jailbroken, so you can't re-install the iPad baseband or try anything again.
At least whilst I was on iOS 5.0.1, it would let me go through the jailbreak sequence as often as I wanted to try downgrading the BB.

Dave - June 18, 2012 at 6:37pm
Ok, sorry, you can run through the process again if your on iOS 5.1.1, you just need to make sure the phone is already powered off so when you hit jailbreak button, it can't do the check and proceeds.
