T-Mobile Emboldened By Apple Deal, Says 'You Love Your iPhone, But You Hate AT&T'

Posted December 6, 2012 at 7:20pm by
Following the announcement that T-Mobile would carry Apple devices in 2013, the company presented some of its plans to analysts, reports The Verge.

They're planning a large ad campaign that was repeatedly referred to as "fun" and will almost surely be designed to poke at the other carriers. The idea T-Mobile is going for is "You love your iPhone, but you hate AT&T," the company told analysts, and even made vague references to proving pundits wrong and forcing news reports to issue "retractions" on their predictions.

Additionally, it was revealed that Deutsche Telekom will be spending $4.7 billion on network upgrades in 2013 and $3 billion in 2014 and 2015. $4 billion will be spend on rolling out its LTE network which is expected to reach 100 million people by mid-2013 and 200 million by the end of the year. Finally, the company expects to have regulatory approval for its MetroPCS acquisition in the first half of next year.

We'll have to wait until next year to see if T-Mobile will be able to execute on its lofty goals.

Hopefully the unlimited data will come back to AT&T if they feel pressured by T-Mobile. In order for T-Mobile to compete they must keep the unlimited data plan, otherwise they will never survive. I bet the iPhone 5 is going to be exclusive to T-Mobile. I agree this is great news for the consumer, its about time to shake up Verizon & AT&T, these carriers have dominated the US mobile market. 2 GIG of data plan? Come on!! It is a poor deal. Do you know what Verizon is doing? Now if you upgrade your phone to any new phone whether it is an iPhone 5 or different phone they will remove your unlimited data plan. That's a complete robbery. My friend just paid full price for an iPhone 5 he refused to have his unlimited changed. That's completely wrong! I dislike Verizon.

T-Mobile is probably the absolute best carrier in the US (I don't know about the other international carriers though) but I have a family plan, shared 1000 mins and unlimited text, 2 lines with 4G data plan and a 3rd line with unlimited mins (which my dad needs to make lots of calls) and with my company discount, my total bill has only been $94! Yes! I have paid between $94-$96 for the past 3 months now! That's less than $25/line! Imagine if I decided to remove both data plans and the unlimited minutes for my dad? That's a saving of $30! Because each added service is $10. I'd only have to pay $70! I can even remove text for another minus $10! That's $60/month for 4 lines! Check out T-Mobile's value plan. It's amazingly cheap.

Doesn't matter how you feel about the carriers. It's a win-win for the consumer. Good thing AT&T wasn't able to gobble up T-Mobile in 2011. Sprint has its own plans and they don't include giving up. More competition. This is all good news!

Unlimited Data 4G with real high speeds of over 10MBPS download and upload with T-Mobile. With AT&T you get good speeds but unreliable service and poor customer service. I dislike AT&T.
