I'd bet the dude is lying and trying to get a free macbook. People are so shady like the guy who shoke dennis rodmans hand and then tried to sue him for shaking it too hard... this was like 3 days ago but there are countless examples of this. I'd bet a lot of money this guy is just making it up.

This happened to me once at Future Shop, with a Palm Pilot years ago. At that time Future Shop did nothing about it, Palm ended sending me a replacement.
ALWAYS open the box at the store.

lol, poor guy! in the uk, by law the retailer that sells you the product has to deal with your problem. they often tell consumers to take it up with the manufacturers, and most do because they're not aware of their rights.
