Apple has released the second developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.4. The latest build, 25E5218f, arrives just a week after the initial seed.
The first beta of macOS 26.4 introduced a highly requested battery management tool for MacBook users. Apple added a new Charge Limit feature to System Settings, allowing owners to set a charging ceiling between 80 and 100 percent. Unlike the predictive Optimized Battery Charging feature, this manual control prevents the laptop from charging past the selected percentage, helping preserve battery health for Macs that spend most of their time plugged in.
Apple has not published release notes detailing what's new in today's build. Second betas typically focus on bug fixes and stability rather than introducing major new features. Like its iOS counterpart, macOS 26.4 was originally expected to include major Siri upgrades, but recent reports suggest those generative AI features have been delayed following internal performance testing. We are installing the update now and will report back if any notable changes surface.
Developers can access the latest macOS restore image through the Apple Developer Center or download the update directly via the Software Update menu in System Settings.
