Apple Officially Releases watchOS 27 [Download]

Apple has officially released watchOS 27 for compatible Apple Watch models, adding Siri AI, smarter Smart Stack suggestions, expanded Workout Buddy support, and other system improvements.



Siri AI brings personal context, onscreen awareness, broader world knowledge, and more app actions to Apple Watch. Call Context can surface information such as a confirmation code or reservation number when calling a business, while a dedicated Siri app lets users revisit conversations synchronized through iCloud.


The Smart Stack can now suggest widgets when they are relevant. A new single-handed tap gesture opens the suggested widget, providing quick access without navigating through the interface.



Workout Buddy can be used without an iPhone nearby and is now available in Spanish as well as English. Apple also says music playback is faster in watchOS 27.

Apple Intelligence is available on Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, and Apple Watch SE 3 when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone. Some features require the iPhone to be nearby. Siri AI is rolling out as a beta in English, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish coming in October. It is not initially available on watchOS in the European Union, and Siri AI and the other new Apple Intelligence features are unavailable in China.


To install the update, open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, select General, and choose Software Update. Apple Watch should be connected to its charger, have at least 50 percent battery, and remain within range of the paired iPhone.
