BiteSMS Beta 7 Released with Support for iPhone 5s

Posted January 8, 2014 at 1:50pm by iClarified
BiteSMS fans who have been waiting for support for the iPhone 5s should be glad to know that the BiteSMS team has just pushed out beta 7 -- which has full support for the iPhone 5s.

Compatible with iPhone 5S devices.

Bug fixes and some user interface improvements.

The original BiteSMS beta was leaked after users discovered the developer only repository and began downloading it from there. While it was originally filled with many bugs as most betas are, the team has done a nice job of fixing a lot of them since the original release.

Frustrated with the built-in Messages app? Want more features? Wish it was much quicker to compose or reply to messages? Then biteSMS is for you, with lots of extra features like Quick Reply, Quick Compose, Scheduled Messages, Auto-Forward, Auto-Retry, Passcode Lock, Privacy, Contact Pics, Easy Pick Smileys, Templates, Signatures and much more! Simply use biteSMS as a complete souped-up replacement to the built-in Messages application on iPhone and iPod devices.

In order to get the BiteSMS beta for free, which has been out for a few weeks now but only with iOS 7 support, you must add the following Cydia repo: http://test-cydia.bitesms.com

Too many problems and crashes with Bites I've had it with IOS6 .. First when you try to text sometimes you must double click home button and close the app to text another person. The back button disappears . I hate this app,it sucks

When you install bitesms it automatically hides your stock messages app with no way to get it back, now why would the dev do this? I like my stock messages app, usually i would only use bites QR and QC and use the stock messages app. If they are going forward with this i would not be installing bitesms. HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY CAN COME UP WITH A TWEAK THATS QR QC ONLY. I would definitely pay for that in a heartbeat. And also the way they handle licences is a phuken joke they are not tied to your cydia account, so that means if you have multiple devices you are screwd because you have to buy a license for every single device. You should be able to do it from within the app. I did it last night and it worked. Install the beta, while in bitesms message scroll down to reveal the search bar, click on settings beside it. then click on recover, then click on "No luck, try this". You will then need the last 4 characters from your paypal receipt.

Sorry for the offopic question: Are the following bugs still present in the iOS 7 evasion JB? 1) statusbar color glitch in calculator, at full screen photos and at call screen 2) notification center doesn't show weather, today view won't show any notifications (I know that is doesn't always happen and there is some patch to solve this but I'd be happier if I wouldn't need to manually modify anything in the filesystem). If the answer is yes, and I'll jailbreak, is there a chance that with a cydia update these bugs get fixed later? Thanks!!!

Yep I just did my 5s JB last night with the current evaders package and did not know about those issues until I read your post but checked my 5s and it looks like all the bugs you stated are present. IMHO I would JB now and hope for a bug fix later on just in case apple blocks the ability to restore and JB with a new update. If they can't fix it and its a deal breaker you can always restore as new but you can't JB if you miss this window. I doesn't seem like a huge deal except maybe the photo viewing. But I'll live with it. This bite SMS update and the app bioprotect are worth doing the JB itself.
