Apple Will Not Unveil a New Apple TV or iWatch at WWDC [Report]

Posted May 2, 2014 at 6:18pm by
A new report from Re/code says that Apple will not unveil any new category-defining hardware at WWDC and warns fans to dial back their expectations of the event or be disappointed.

Sources familiar with Apple’s plans tell Code/red that Tim Cook will not use WWDC to unveil Apple’s mythical wearable device. Nor will he use it to show off a new Apple TV, or even preview the new software the company is developing for it. Which makes perfect sense, really. There’s little point in Apple unveiling a new OS in advance of a significant hardware update.

It appears that Apple will use the event to focus on OS X 10.10 and iOS 8; however, some of the features previously reported for iOS 8 could be pushed back to iOS 8.1 and other features may not be demonstrated because they require unannounced hardware.

Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference runs June 2-6. Please follow iClarified on X, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

You know how it's always 2keynotes per year, there's always more to come after WWDC (therefore another special event) after that.

Years ago I hated Apple for all the secrets, today it's mandatory because Samsung will copy before the new products are out.

Apple TV or not this year, it's still worth a wait like a new iOS.

Or are they saying "no hardware, no software"

Or something like "no matter how much we reveal, there's more to come just like the past software there has been for the past iOS'."

"There’s little point in Apple unveiling a new OS in advance of a significant hardware update. ".......???? Eh??? So what has Apple done previous years with the iPhone and iOS??? That statement makes this a really reliable source ;-p

I´ve got my fingers crossed for to finally see mobile payments done right. Right as in that the "whole world" will embrace it as a good solution.
