Apple may be planning to launch the iPhone 6 on Tuesday, October 14th during what will be an 'incredibly busy' month for the company, according to a source that spoke to MacRumors. An internal Apple Retail Store meeting was cited as the source of this information.

The source notes that a senior Store Leader mentioned October 14th as being an "immense" day for Apple, adding that the whole month of October would be very busy for stores and the company itself. Apple is also said to planning a media event for Tuesday, September 16, coming a month ahead of the device's launch.

Previous reports have suggested that Apple would announce the iPhone 6 in mid-September followed by another event to unveil OS X Yosemite, new iPads, and perhaps even the iWatch in October.

The launch of an iPhone on Tuesday would differ from previous years where Apple has typically launched on a Friday; however, the source says that high demand and amply supply make an earlier launch possible.

It's still not clear if Apple intends to release the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models at the same time. So far leaks have suggested that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is further along in the production process.
