If you updated your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 8.0.1 you may be experiencing cellular service or Touch ID issues. Here's the instructions on how to downgrade back to iOS 8.0.

First, download the appropriate firmware ipsw for your device. You can find all the iPhone firmware download links here. We've also linked the appropriate ones for these steps below.

Connect your iPhone to iTunes via USB and click the Back Up Now button under the Summary tab. It is very important that you back up to your Mac or PC, not iCloud, as iCloud backups won't restore to earlier firmware versions.

iTunes will now reinstall the iOS 8.0 firmware on your device. Please note the Health app won't work in iOS 8 after these steps; however, it will be fixed in an upcoming iOS 8.0.2 software update. Also these steps won't work forever. Following the release of iOS 8.0.2, Apple will likely stop signing the iOS 8.0 firmware and you will not be able to downgrade after that.

Apple has recognized the issue with iOS 8.0.1 and said, "We are also preparing iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it's ready in the next few days."

Apple needs to fire their current QA employees and hire a new team. This is unacceptable.

for iPhone 5S and below, iPod touch 5 and iPads can still be restored and downgraded back to 7.1.2. do it now before 7.1.2 stops signing!

Ridiculous for a company as big as Apple to allow things like this to happen. How can a software update be not tested prior to release? The bugs a re very obvious and is very consistent. It does not take a genius to replicate it, and for a company like Apple, known for their perfectionist standards, to miss something as obvious as this, is simply unbelievable. The botched up streaming service on the launch day of iPhone 6 is another shi tty event that has me thinking Apple is really being manage rather poorly these days.
