Microsoft has made available a Windows 10 Technical Preview for anyone to download.
Windows 10 will be a free upgrade and brings new features such as Cortana, Project Spartan, Xbox Live, Continuum mode, and more. Click here for additional details.
Microsoft warns that you should install the preview only if you: ● Want to try out software that’s still in development and like sharing your opinion about it. ● Don’t mind lots of updates or a UI design that might change significantly over time. ● Really know your way around a PC and feel comfortable troubleshooting problems, backing up data, formatting a hard drive, installing an operating system from scratch, or restoring your old one if necessary. ● Know what an ISO file is and how to use it. ● Aren't installing it on your everyday computer.

...Hit post too soon from last thread. Like I was saying. Runs smooth, better than 8 but for some reason I can't get it to recognize installation disc of MS Project 10. Haven't tried other CD or DVDs yet. I've updated everything I can think of and installed VMWare tools.

I installed it in via boot camp so I can boot from it and use VMWare. Mine recognized CDs on boot camp and in VMWare.

It's a Technical Preview, which is intended for development and bug reporting rather than daily use. It's similar to an Alpha version of software and is still in development.

True..! It's stated right there "technical preview" and "know your way around to your pc" likr what he said "hey I got win 10!!" Its a no no when your running a software still in development..

I personally prefer the Mac ecosystem for my workflow, though both systems have their place.

Preference Dependant - January 24, 2015 at 2:40am
I had a MacBook Pro...and went back...nothing against Apple, it just wasn't my preference. This whole Windows/Mac argument is ridiculous. It's all about user preference, each system offers it's own pro's and con's. I wish fanboys of each system would just stop the ridiculous argument. I have a Windows machine, with an iPhone 6 Plus, I like that mix, some may not.

Preference Depended is correct.

This is a newer Technical Preview with the included Cortana and Spartan Browser...much newer than the previously released versions. Runs smooth so far, so glad they brought back the Start Menu, and now it's more customizable.

The only news here is the fact that Microsoft announced its a free upgrade. The technical preview has been around for months to the public.
