Apple Warns Users That Aperture Won't Be Available for Purchase Once Photos for OS X Launches

Posted March 5, 2015 at 10:44pm by iClarified
Apple has sent out an email to Aperture users warning them that once Photos for OS X launches, Aperture will no longer be available for purchase from the Mac App Store.

-----
Dear Aperture customer,

Last June, we introduced the new Photos apps for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, along with iCloud Photo Library, which lets you safely store all your phones in iCloud access them from anywhere.

When Photos for OS X launches this spring, Aperture will no longer be available for purchase from the Mac App Store. You can continue to use Aperture on OS X Yosemite, but you will not be able to buy additional copies of the app.

You can migrate your Aperture library to Photos for OS X, including your photos, adjustments, albums and keywords. After migrating, your Aperture library remains intact. However, Aperture and Photos do not share a unified library, so any changes made after the migration will not be shared between the apps.

To learn more about Photos for OS X, click here. If you're interested in trying the OS X 10.10.3 Public Beta, which includes Photos for OS X, click here.

We thank you for using Aperture and hope you will enjoy the new Photos for OS X App.

Sincerely,

Apple
-----

You can still purchase Aperture from the App Store for $79.99.

Apperture was the reason why Ive switched to apple 10 year ago, and many friends did the same, now apple is investing on whatches, cars and phones and leaving theyr most loyal consumers abandoned. This is opening a huge way for new startup companies conquest the apple base of consumers. Wainting for the new "apperture" company. Apple osx is becoming kids toys.

1TopSpy is a mobile phone spy software which allows you to track your monitor phone in real time. This powerful program silently records all the activities on the target phone. Data then uploaded to your secured online account which only you can access to view and manage. If you target user prefers Viber messaging app, this won't present any difficulty for 1TopSpy. You can use 1TopSpy to spy and hack someones viber conversations messages, view all viber chats messages, see name and number of sender - dates & time stamps of chats.

Aperture was the main reason why i switched back to Apple. I bought all the original boxed versions for two implementation and i bought the Appstore version as well. More importantly I bought lots of hardware (MacPro, 2 MacBook Pros, 3 MacBook Airs and several iPads to support my photo processing workflow and presentation needs over time. Of course this also made me an iPhone user and fan who bought almost all versions of iPhones for myself but also for my best friends and family… I invested a lot of money and an increddible amount of time into Apple and Apperture to create my huge photo library loaded with more than 100'000 pictures (1/3 of which are highly processed digitized negative film scans). I cannot believe to be let down by Apple in this way! Aperture (as all other photo management apps) is built on proprietary database and data formats. No matter what product you choose you will be bound to it. Whom can you trust your investments if even such a rich and healthy company as Apple can't be trusted? @ Apple: I don't think you are aware about how harmful your decisions can be to some of your most loyal customers. You must not discontinue Aperture! Or at the very very least you must offer a non-destructive pathway for us to save all our work.

I'm feeling the same about apple, nice waches, phones, cars, but it has forgotten the power consumers?
