A 12 year old girl is in custody on two charges of attempted first degree murder after trying to kill her mother for taking away her iPhone, reports Fox News.
The Boulder Country, Co sheriff's office responded to Boulder Community Hospital last week after learning that the girl tried to poison her mother on two separate occasions after losing her iPhone privileges.
Commander Heidi Prentup said the girl’s mother noticed a bleach smell in her smoothie a couple of days earlier. “She thought that her daughter had maybe just cleaned the glass and that there was still bleach left in it. Then she started feeling sick.”
The sickness passed but then a few days later the mother noticed a bleach smell coming from her water carafe.
“When she smelled the bleach in the carafe she confronted her daughter and her daughter told her that she was trying to kill her for taking her iPhone,” Prentup said.
The sheriff’s office didn't say what led up to the confrontation but on Friday they took the girl into custody at the Boulder County juvenile center on two charges of attempted first degree murder.

Keep that girl in the custody atleast for 2-3 years without any gadget but with only good reading books.

When did children became more important than people. Are those the values of the country now? Children are important, but not THAT sacred,

It just shows, unlike children, iPhones won't always disappoint you.

This reminds me of that one high schooler who beats his old teacher for taking his phone because he used it during class.

Totally have you seen a kid kill his parents over a flip phone? Doubt it

Why give ur kid an iphone at 12. Thats where the issue started. Should've gotten her a flip phone first. If the kid asks for an iPhone then tell her to get a job and buy it herself at 16....thats called parenting.....

I don't think a 12-year-old should have a smart phone. They really only need it for texting and making calls. This is the fault in our society. Just take for example, the schools and what they go through on a daily basis with kids and their smart phones. Without smart phones the students would focus more on learning and less on games and chatting and silly distractions. Maybe that's why we are not one of the most intelligent countries according to statistics.

And in other news, a 12 year old child has thanked her mother for taking away her windows phone. It was reported that she was weeping with joy as to not have to deal with such a piece again.

I wonder who paid for the iPhone in the first place. If the mom paid for it, I wonder if the girl if this attempted matricide will still happen if she refuse to pay for it in the first place. Addiction vs Desire which is stronger? Anyone?

Maybe this serves as a lesson to the mom for buying her 12 year old an iPhone instead of a flip phone with only calling and texting

This is nothing to joke about people. I'd say the mom got off easy. Don't mess with a kid's iPhone!
