The new Apple TV which is rumored for unveiling on September 9th will cost between $149 and $199, reports 9to5Mac.

According to sources, the fourth-generation Apple TV will be priced below $200, and is on track to become available in October. Apple executives are apparently still finalizing the price of the revamped living room device, but the latest options call for a starting price point of either $149 or $199, both higher than the third-generation Apple TV…

Due to the higher price point, Apple is reportedly planning to keep the current ($69) Apple TV around as an entry model.

The new ATV4 will look similar to the current model but be thicker and slightly wider. It's also expected to bring Apple's A8 system on chip; a new drastically improved remote that offers touch-pad input, an increase in on-board storage, an improved operating system that will support Siri voice control, and apps! It's not expected to offer web TV service as of yet.

Notably, the software to enable Apple's cable replacement service should be available for the current generation ATV but the device won't be able to run apps or receive Siri support.
