If they could just not drop the 3.5mm headphone jack that would be great

Your headphone port is now also your power port. Who wants to bet that complaints that people cannot charge their phones due to damage to the port goes up big time, specially if they are expecting you to use an adaptor. You would have a non-flexible piece sticking out of the bottom of your phone by about an inch. The risk of hitting and bending/breaking off the plug will be huge.

Yeah and sometimes you want to charge as you listen so this wouldn't be possible. Smaller phone probably indicates crappier battery. I hope they address that battery issue finally.

To make headphones through lightning sound improved and crispier because lightning delivers better audio. I like this change anyway.

What the. The whole world uses jacks of different size For music. No musician or band in the world uses anything else. The music quality does NOT depend on the 3,5 mm jack. Thats total bs. If you want better sound buy better headphones. The only reason why they are dropping the 3,5 mm jack is being able ti make the iphone thinner.

I'll have you know, I said what I said because boomstick can get the same results about what I previously mentioned so yeah there's no denying and no excuse for this not to work. In general you are right about thinner iPhones being achieved, but on another hand, you're missing the point. Apple is trying to make us feel like using the ports from older devices but in a thinner style like trying to support MacBook ports that don't fit like Ethernet for example.
