iPhone 7 Survives Being Submerged Under 35 Feet of Water, Galaxy S7 Does Not [Video]

Check out this test from EverythingApplePro comparing the water resistance of the Apple iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Apple says the iPhone 7 is rated IP67 under IEC standard 60529 which means it can withstand being submerged under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. Samsung touts a higher IP68 rating for the Galaxy S7 which means it can survive being under 1.5m of water for 30 minutes.

Despite its higher rating, the Galaxy S7 did not outlast the iPhone 7. It appears that Apple may have underestimated just how water resistant the iPhone 7 is.

Right, because we all live with Aqua-man, its common knowledge that our phones need to be under 35 feet of water.

the give away sentence was "I am gonna do an uncut video, so anybody who will doubt me, will know" ;), why would there be a reason to doubt? the natural reaction expected is to have no doubt, to accept. when you expect doubt yourself of an unknown result before pulling up, would only suggest the result is a known value and doubt is an expected behavior.

Yet in other videos the s7 was under water for 24 hours....even frozen in other videos and no problem, another video the s7 was submerged in a can in a fast flowing canal,still survived. Great marketing strategy by apple.

We can diss Samsung all we want, but apple did have bendgate, they suffered from the death grip, and iPhone 6 users are suffering from the "grey bar." Now the iPhone 7 is suffering from hissing coming from its processor. I'm call this hissgate. All phones that go through mass production like the Galaxies and the iPhones will have problems. I mean apple released a new jet black iPhone that scratches within hours! That's not right. Apple needs to double down on their Q&R before next year. That new oled iPhone needs to be BULLET PROOF. no mistakes no issues. Apple needs to learn from Samsung and their own mistakes.

Sure, let's have Apple learn from a company that had their devices either catch on fire or explode for no apparent reason, besides these gates were eventually fixed, but what's the big deal with the hissing? In fact, there wasn't a single mention about it, yet I never had these problems at all and I upgrade to a new iPhone all the time. With all these gates though, Samsung has their own problems to like I already stated, so again, why would an already great company making already great products learn from someone not doing so much in all the aspects (not be at the top of the game like tablets, watches, etc.)?

Dude, I get what you're saying that iPhones have had their teething troubles, but there's a major difference between a phone getting scratched, emitting a small noise, or bending under extreme circumstances and EXPLODING. It's one thing to be annoyed at a new product with imperfections (Apple employees are people too) and a phone that literally explodes. A phone that is not allowed on airplanes or public transportation. A phone that the Federal Government has told you not to use. I mean come on.

He should not use rope, a digital pressure device in that can to measure depth would be much better. Bottom might be 2 feet with whole rope.

The Galaxy range of products are now tainted due to the exploding Galaxy phone. Samsung should just drop that series name and start afresh. People will always ask if future Galaxy branded phones will explode, or even ask if it is the successor of the exploding Galaxy phone.

Generally the phones will fry if screen on, if off may have a higher survivability rate. Most people should have their screen to auto shut off at one minute or less. The exception being dropping your iPhone in the water whilst navigation, a video, or mlb at bat is running.
