Foxconn has begun its hiring spree ahead of iPhone 12 mass production, reports inews.qq.com.

According to the latest news from the industry chain, in order to cope with the new products released by Apple in September, Foxconn's main production area in Zhengzhou is looking for people with a lot of money, and the internal recommendation can reward up to 9,000 yuan.

It's unclear how many workers are being hired but the report notes that in the off season the factory employs tens of thousands compared to up to a million during peak production.

Notably, the same report says that Apple previously planned to produce 80 million iPhone 12 units this year but was slashing orders due to 'more aggressive new rules last week'.

Supply chain sources said that since the current iPhone 12 orders are planned in advance by Apple, so this reduction will not have much impact on the supply chain for the time being, but will make the industry's confidence obviously insufficient, so how to go later, but also depends on Apple and the corresponding regulations on the adjustment.

Apple is widely rumored to be launching four new iPhone models this year including a 5.4-inch 'iPhone 12', a 6.1-inch 'iPhone 12 Max', a 6.1-inch 'iPhone 12 Pro', and a 6.7-inch 'iPhone 12 Pro Max'. Last month, the company revealed that the iPhone launch will be a 'few weeks later' this year; however, rumors suggest the company could split the release into two stages.
