Apple has seeded the release candidate of tvOS 16 to developers for testing. The build number is 20J373.
Apple hasn't directly announced any new features for the Apple TV with tvOS 16; however, the update supports HDR10+ in the Apple TV app and improved integration with iOS and iPadOS apps. Additionally, the Game Controller framework in tvOS 16 is getting support for more Bluetooth and USB game controllers.
