Apple has quietly reduced the price of the Studio Display XDR when configured with a VESA mount adapter, dropping the cost by $400 just weeks after the monitor's initial launch.
The standard glass version with a VESA mount now costs $2,899, down from its original $3,299 sticker price. Customers opting for the nano-texture glass and VESA mount will now pay $3,199 instead of $3,599. The configuration featuring the tilt- and height-adjustable stand remains at its original $3,299 starting price.
Alongside the price adjustment, Apple tweaked its online storefront to make selecting a stand the first step in the configuration process rather than starting with the glass type. When Apple unveiled the Studio Display XDR last month as a replacement for the older Pro Display XDR, it initially charged the exact same price for both the advanced mechanical stand and the basic VESA metal plate. This correction aligns the monitor with typical pricing structures where VESA options cost less than complex ergonomic stands.
Pricing for the standard Studio Display remains unchanged, with both the basic tilt-adjustable stand and VESA mount configurations holding at $1,599, although Amazon has the monitor on sale today for $100 off.
The 27-inch 5K Retina Studio Display XDR targets demanding creative workflows with a mini-LED backlight system featuring 2,304 local dimming zones, up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also includes a 12MP Center Stage camera and dual Thunderbolt 5 ports capable of delivering 140W of charging power to a connected Mac.
