Famous hacker Marc Maiffret, now chief security architect at FireEye, says Windows is more secure than Mac.
Speaking about Apple Maiffret said, "It's even a little scarier with them because they try to market themselves as more secure than the PC, that you don't have to worry about viruses, etc. Anytime there's been a hacking contest, within a few hours someone's found a new Apple vulnerability. If they were taking it seriously, they wouldn't claim to be more secure than Microsoft because they are very much not. And the Apple community is pretty ignorant to the risks that are out there as it relates to Apple. The reason we don't see more attacks out there compared to Microsoft is because their market share isn't near what Microsoft's is."
You can read much more in his interview with CNET at the link below...
C'mon... I am not sure to say that 100% sure, but I have a mac for 3 years now, and I never had a virus or malware, and I already fixed 25 computers by the same situation in windows... soooo... maybe Mac has issues, but the hackers are nicer... or who actually pays for this??? Norton, Mcafee, Panda... hummmm conspiracy jajajajaja...just kidding...
It's funny, if you look closely at the pic he has an Apple laptop right in front of him. Not sure but that looks like either a MacBook or PowerBook. So if Windows is more secure, then why is the worlds best ex-hacker using an Apple? Kindof makes you wonder
..yup, not only MS pays him but also they pay every single hacker in the planet....yup, Mac is more secure....btw, how's ur perfect world in imaginationland?
i do not think so apples worries almost about a month to do a security update free for all and microsoft does´t update anything in years, an if you do not have a valid serial number worse, also is well known that microsoft make his own holes for spyware the same that are used for hacking, and finaly the main question is why we don´t have not even 2 or 3 viruses
I can overlook most of the valid reasonable arguments out there, but concider the volume of WIndows based viruses out there and that you had to go back 4 years and 2 months to find one article about a single mac virus. I'm stating this from the point of view that the Mac is inherently more secure, but his argument that it is market share. As a Apple fan, I think this is very reasonable and it would be foolish to think otherwise. We all need to be aware of vulnerabilities and prepare accordingly.
