An early look at Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac by BGR offers initial impressions and a large screenshot gallery.
Each application has had its UI completely overhauled as Microsoft has made the wise decision to redo the entire layout of the application suite. Instead of the awful configuration found in Office for Mac 2008, 2011 draws from both Office 2007 and Office 2010 for Windows. In fact, it did such a good job that we cant think of a reason why someone who is used to one OS wouldnt be able to jump into the other and get work done in Office.
The BGR was impressed with most of the suite; however, they felt Outlook fell short. Although they said, "its definitely the best and most powerful email client weve ever used on OS X" the site was disappointed with how much more difficult it was to use than the Windows version.

Also, Outlook is useless if you are on anything before Exchange 2007 SP1. Connections to Exchange must be done through Enterprise Web Services (EWS) as it appears that WEBDAV is no longer supported. You will need to stay with Entourage for older Exchange versions.

sorry, but this direction no ... i stop by 2008. The office 2010 or 11 have nothing new, nothing!!! just a menu layout change ... and when we change something is for what ... for better, for more productive, is exactly what this office does´t offer. i stay by 2008 and happy.
