A new leak from Korean blog Naver, attributed to user yeux1122, claims to reveal the color options for Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air. Based on camera protector accessories, the leak offers an early preview of what Apple may offer in its 2025 lineup.
The post alleges the standard iPhone 17 will come in Black, Silver, Blue, Green, and Purple. The iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to replace the Plus model, is slated for a distinct set of colors: Black, Silver, Light Gold, and Light Blue. Notably, the leak is said to come from camera protectors—an important detail, as the Air model is expected to feature a major redesign with a new horizontal camera bar.
This new Air model has been the subject of intense speculation due to its "scary thin" design, measuring around 5.5mm. That slim profile has raised concerns about battery life, leading to reports that Apple is developing both a dedicated battery case for the device and exploring new high-density silicon-anode battery technology to manage power concerns.
While the Air is getting thinner, the standard iPhone 17 might be getting bigger, with a rumor suggesting its screen will grow to 6.3 inches to match the iPhone 17 Pro. The Pro models, meanwhile, are expected to feature a full-width camera bar on the back. To handle the performance of the new A19 Pro chip, those models are also rumored to feature an advanced vapor chamber cooling system.
