A new leak from Digital Chat Station on Weibo has revealed potential specifications for Apple's upcoming iPhone 17e, highlighting a move to the Dynamic Island and an updated industrial design. The rumor offers key details about the more budget-friendly iPhone, which is expected to succeed the iPhone 16e released earlier this year.
The iPhone 17e will reportedly gain the Dynamic Island, moving on from the notch design of the current iPhone 16e. It is expected to keep a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The post claims the phone will feature a single 48-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with 3D Face ID. The leaker notes the industrial design is due for a "big change," which could mean a shift to a more rounded frame similar to the iPhone 15.
Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by an A19 chip, an upgrade from the A18 processor in the iPhone 16e. The leaker concludes that the phone's main selling point will likely remain its position as the "cheapest iPhone."
This new information aligns with other reports suggesting Apple plans to establish an annual spring release for its more affordable iPhones. The iPhone 17e is rumored for a spring 2026 launch as part of a major shake-up to Apple's release schedule, and an earlier report claimed the device was already nearing trial production.
