Apple Introduces 40W Dynamic Power Adapter With 60W Output for Faster Charging

Apple has introduced a new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter, unveiled as part of its September event announcements. The compact charger is uniquely designed to dynamically deliver up to 60W of output, providing a significant boost in charging speeds for compatible devices.

With its Dynamic Power feature, the adapter is made to deliver many of the same benefits of a higher-wattage charger but in a compact, pocket-size form factor. This makes charging at home, in the office, or on the go faster and more convenient.

According to Apple, the adapter supports fast charging for its latest devices. It can charge the new iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models to 50 percent battery in around 20 minutes. The ultra-thin iPhone Air can reach a 50 percent charge in about 30 minutes.


The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter is compatible with USB-C–enabled devices and is priced at $39. As is standard for Apple's power adapters, the charging cable is sold separately.
