Apple has rolled out the second public betas of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, and tvOS 26.2 to software testers today. The company also released the third public beta of macOS Tahoe 26.2. These updates arrive shortly after the latest round of developer builds, bringing several new features and refinements to iPhone, iPad, and Mac users ahead of the final release expected later this year.
This beta reveals a new AirDrop capability that will allow users to generate a one-time code for sharing files with people not in their contacts. As previously discovered in developer builds, this code creates a temporary link for file exchanges that lasts for 30 days. Additionally, Apple is laying the groundwork for a region-specific feature that will allow users in Japan to replace Siri on the Side Button with alternative voice assistants.
The update continues to refine the 'Liquid Glass' interface introduced in iOS 26. Users enabling the Tinted setting will now see a warning if Accessibility features like Reduce Transparency are active, with the system offering to automatically adjust settings to make the visual style compatible. The Reminders app also sees attention with a new splash screen highlighting the ability to mark items as urgent to trigger a full-screen alarm, a feature first spotted in the initial beta.
Developers gain access to a new API for reading Hypertension Notifications, allowing third-party health apps to utilize data generated by the Apple Watch feature. The dedicated Games app includes a new splash screen detailing library filters and real-time score updates. For iPad users, multitasking gets a boost with the restoration of drag-and-drop functionality, letting apps be pulled from Spotlight or the App Library directly into Slide Over or tiled views.
Public beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program can download the new updates by opening the Settings app, going to General, selecting Software Update, and choosing iOS 26 Public Beta from the Beta Updates row.
