Apple is keeping the display bezels on the iPhone 18 series identical to the iPhone 17 lineup, though the Dynamic Island is still expected to get noticeably smaller.
Frequent leaker Ice Universe shared the details on Weibo today, stating that the black borders framing the screen will see no changes this year. This means the overall display footprint and screen-to-body ratio will match the iPhone 17 lineup.
While the outer edges remain unchanged, the post notes that the Dynamic Island itself will shrink. This aligns with a previous claim from the same source indicating the camera and sensor cutout could shrink by roughly 35 percent on the high-end models. Analysts have similarly pointed to a more compact cutout for the upcoming cycle, even as Apple holds off on moving Face ID components entirely under the display.
Keeping the bezels unchanged fits with recent supply chain feedback that pointed to a general lack of exterior updates for the 2026 flagships. Instead of a major chassis redesign, Apple is expected to focus on internal upgrades, including a 2-nanometer A20 chip, 12GB of RAM, and improvements to the rear camera system.
