AirPods Max 2 Release Day: Apple's New Headphones Drop to $529 on Amazon [Deal]

Apple's second-generation AirPods Max are now available, and Amazon is already offering a small release-day discount on the new headphones.



The Midnight colorway is currently on sale for $529, a $20 discount from the $549 retail price. Other colors including starlight, orange, purple, and blue are also available to order.


The new model brings an updated internal architecture. Apple has swapped out the H1 chip for the newer H2, which improves computational audio and refines how noise control is handled. It also makes it possible to bring over features that were previously limited to in-ear models, including Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Voice Isolation.

Support for Live Translation is another new addition. Using Apple Intelligence, users can press and hold the listening mode button to translate spoken language as it happens in real time. The feature requires a paired iPhone running iOS 26.4 or later.

Apple is also expanding functionality for creators. When connected with the included USB-C cable, the AirPods Max 2 support ultra-low latency 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio. The Digital Crown can be used to trigger photo capture or video recording on a connected device, and a new recording mode aims to capture clearer vocals.

Battery life remains up to 20 hours with Active Noise Cancellation and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. Apple has also released a day-one firmware update to optimize performance. Vision Pro users will need to be running visionOS 26.4 for full support.
