A new Apple Education Hub in Hanoi will provide technical and professional training for supplier employees across Vietnam. Operated in partnership with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the facility will begin offering courses this fall as an expanded curriculum rolls out at supplier sites across the country.
The facility is Apple's first education hub in Vietnam and will combine online learning with hands-on instruction from professional educators. Technical courses will cover smart manufacturing fundamentals, robotics, and automation technology, while professional development programs will include leadership soft skills and production-line leader training.
The courses are intended to help workers advance in their current roles or prepare for new career opportunities. Sarah Chandler, Apple's vice president of Environment and Supply Chain Innovation, said the expansion will give thousands of workers access to training in important skills.
The Vietnam project follows a similar supplier education hub in India launched earlier this year. The company and its partners currently provide nearly 20 education programs for supplier employees in Vietnam. A robotics initiative covering robot operation, programming, and maintenance is already running at five factories, with plans for a wider rollout.
Apple plans to extend the Education Hub's expanded curriculum to more than 30 supplier facilities across Vietnam. Available subjects will include Swift programming, automation technology, smart manufacturing, technical instruction, management training, and workplace rights education.
The programs are backed by Apple's global $50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund. Since the fund launched in 2022, it has supported more than 9 million education and training sessions. More than 108,000 supplier employees have participated in Apple's Swift programming courses since 2017, while health and wellness programs have reached more than 8 million people over the same period.
Apple is also expanding its Vocational Education for Persons with Disabilities program in Vietnam this year. Launched in 2022, the program has reached more than 49,000 supplier employees at over 70 facilities, providing workplace skills for people with disabilities and training suppliers to build more accessible and supportive manufacturing environments.
