Lies. All Lies. - June 9, 2008 at 4:57pm
None of the statements above have any credibility as it is now known that the 3G iPhone is slightly thicker, not thinner.

Are you people stupid or just plain dumb? Of course Apple will lock it down now. Have you not heard of the deals they are striking with all the operators on a global basis? Apple is covering all its tracks now. There is no more need to have an unlocked phone (in Apples, and the operators opinion) anymore as there are deals everywhere. If you did not know this, you were blind. It was a bit dumb of the Dev Team, Zibri and the others to show their hand too soon. Of course Apple would lock it down. They had no choice.

Sounds quite disappointing after all this hype. Still I think I will prefer new Blackberry.

Apple will make it again. sort of put the Iphone on sale in Apple stores and online once more and then for some moths people could not unlock it, so what for? I do not understand their marketing strategy they have already saled 5 millions Iphones all over the world they have to be happy of that results so why make the life so difficult to people who want to buy, people who are giving them success?? people like me who bought iphone are making a service to apple not only by buying it but also by buying accessories and earing more money, so why this behaver I really do not understand, really pathetic.

the contact button is nothing really new... you can do it on 1.1.x using the "poof" application...
it is quite handy really, for one touch access to contacts...

What about the following functions within 2.0?
- encrypting notes (etc.)
- synch through WLAN
- MMS
- Push Mail over IMAP (you don't need Exchange for this)
- More Bluetooth applications (stereo hifi, etc.)
- improved vibra signals (e.g., three times instead of one for sms/calender alarm)
- repeat alarms every few minutes until you confirm them
- improved keyboard (there are about half a dozen of very nasty bugs within the keyboard software) or at least editable keyboard dictionary
- switching the phone to flight mode during scheduled times to save power
I do not need gimmicks like GPS and UMTS. I just need a smartphone which is as comfortable to use as possible and which is reliable for daily use. Above all the keyboard bugs and the lack of security (encrypting stuff) might be the reason I will replace my 1.0 iphone by a blackberry.

Yes Ratan Thats what this means, no unlcok or jailbreak till someone gets their hands on it and figures it out. If you are in Australia, and you;ve already have an Iphone, the excitment is not that big anymore.

Hmm now why would Apple provide a standalone Contacts button? This doesn't sound right...
