Now that work on its cloud music locker is reportedly complete, Apple is pushing to sign deals with labels before launch.
According to MediaMemo, Apple has already signed agreements with two out of the four major labels and Eddy Cue is headed to New York to try and finalize the remaining deals.
"They’ve been very aggressive and thoughtful about it," says an industry executive. "It feels like they want to go pretty soon."
The service is said to be similar to Amazon's; however, the benefit of having a signed agreement will allow Apple to create a more robust service. For example, Apple will be able to keep a single master copy of a song on its servers rather than requiring users to upload each song they own to Apple servers.

I didn't want Spotify. I just want the music that I already own but didn't buy through iTunes.

Sounds like this is going to be only for music purchased through iTunes - and therefore completely useless to me.

Well, the whole point with the service is to make your purchased musik available for you through the cloud.. Not to make another Spotify radio service..
