It's retarded, despite it's downfalls it's still a decent device. And for $99 they would have sold all of them in just a few hours. Lol... Will be interesting to hear what they actually do with them back at HP

All Syracuse, NY area Best Buy stated to me on phone that "ALL HP tablets were required to not be sold and to be returned to HP as of the morning of 8/20" its 8/20 at 2pm

This is a marketing scam... the price drops are only listed this weekend and somehow miraculously they were instantly listed as sold out everywhere online in Canada at the exact moment they were listed as for sale at this price. They all of the instore inventories disappeared just before all the stores opened. I was looking at this last night and standing at the door waiting for them to open because they were listed as having stock. See what happens with this. Price goes back up Monday and they will suddenly be available? Haha
Someone - August 20, 2011 at 8:46pm
I agree. Plus a lot of websites still have them in stock at regular prices! Figure that out!!
gb - August 21, 2011 at 3:10am
The inventory didnt vanish you goof... its called employee dibs... How do you think I got mine, sucka!
usa - August 23, 2011 at 3:30am
When it breaks down ...use it as a frame ;;; who cares No shit we all know that... all employees bought em. Now the rest of the tablets should follow sell theirs for $97 at Walmart favorite number..even people are broke as hell they bought a $99 tablet.

Called HP UK Sales and they say they are aware of the US price drop but they haven't been told anything today about the UK price and there won't be any change in price until Monday at the latest
Anon - August 20, 2011 at 10:36am
No price drop in UK?

This reminds me when I was a kid and my dad bought a Texas Instruments 99 for 99 bucks. No support, just a basic language guidebook.
