Bring the iOS 7 Lock Screen Look to Mac OS X as a Screensaver

Bring the iOS 7 Lock Screen Look to Mac OS X as a Screensaver

For those that want to bring iOS 7 and OS X closer together, you can start by adding the iOS 7 lock screen as a screensaver to your Mac.

The lockscreen is based on Andrew Ambrosino's iOS 7 inspired look for OS X 11. It has the same font, and starry wallpaper found in iOS 7 as well.

Customize it ! Choose between many option like
● Clock & clock size
● Wallpaper and wallpaper animation
● Text color between black and white
● Customize "Press key to unlock" string

The installation procedure is as follows:

1) Just drag and drop the screensaver into 'Screen Savers alias' folder in the dmg
2) This will install it on your computer
3) Then go to system preferences and select the new screensaver
4) You can customize more options in the preferences

You can grab the screensaver as a free download from Bodysouldspirit's website below.

Unzip the file. Double-click the .dmg file and the "iOS 7 lockscreen by bodysoulspirit" icon should appear on your desktop. Double click it. It will then present the .qtz file and screen savers alias folder. Just drag the .qtz file to the folder and then open up your screen saver preferences. The ios7 lockscreen option should be at the bottom.

Thank you - that is very helpful - only thing I need clarified now is which folder is it being dragged to? Also - it opens up in my side bar in finder as a disk, not on the desktop - but I do see the files...

Disregard - I see - drag the qtz into the alias folder... meaning all int he same folder. I thought it was dragged to somewhere else. Thanks for the feedback!

I think this would be the greatest if it could actually be set as a wallpaper. Please let that happen!

Hi - You are able to set your own wallpaper. Just drag your image to the square that has the default. You will then see a '+' sign. Set to stretch/fill, and you're all set!
