These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s on iOS 8.0 - 8.1 using Pangu8 for Mac...
If you aren't already at iOS 8.1 we suggest upgrading to the latest firmware using iTunes. You can find download links for iOS 8.1 here. We've also posted instructions on how to update the firmware of your iPhone. Please note that you must update using iTunes rather than Software Update. If you used Software Update you should do a backup then restore to iOS 8.1 using iTunes.
Double click the downloaded Pangu dmg file to mount it.
Then drag the Pangu app icon into the iClarified folder.
Step Two Tap Settings from your Springboard then select Touch ID & Passcode. Turn Passcode Off if it is enabled.
Step Three Press the Settings button at the top left to return to the Settings menu. Choose iCloud from the Settings menu then select Find My iPhone from the iCloud menu. Ensure the Find My iPhone switch is the Off position.
Step Four Return to the Settings menu by tapping the iCloud then Settings buttons at the top left of the screen. Then enable Airplane Mode by tapping the Airplane Mode switch.
Step Five Connect your iPhone to the computer via a USB cable, launch iTunes, and perform a manual backup. It is very important that you remember to backup your device before continuing as you could lose your data if the jailbreak process does not complete successfully.
Step Six Right click or hold down Control and click the Pangu app from the iClarified folder on your desktop.
Click Open from the contextual menu that appears.
Click Open when warned that Pangu is from an unidentified developer.
Step Seven You will notice the device is detected by the software. Click the large Start Jailbreak button to begin your jailbreak.
Step Eight You will be prompted to confirm that you've backed up your device and that it's in Airplane Mode, click the Already Did button to continue.
Step Nine The Pangu app will now begin the jailbreak process.
Step Ten Once the jailbreak has completed successfully, your iPhone will reboot and a Pangu app and Cydia app will appear on your Springboard. Congratulations, you're now jailbroken!
*A big thanks to the Pangu team and all the others who contributed to this jailbreak.

Is there a way to unlock the Iphone 4s? I already jailbroke the iphone 4s, but still cannot use another SIM card, please help, thanks.
Unlock my iphone 4s.
So beware there's an 8.1.1 version now and Pangu doesn't support it... don't just use itunes to download the latest firmware as this guide suggests.. I found this out the hard way.. guess I'm waiting for a Pangu update.
I have followed the above process and successfully jailbroken my 6 plus, however after i restore from backup and reboot my phone by any chance, its stuck at the white logo screen, but usually detected in itunes. I had to re-install 8.1 and re-jailbreak nevery time its stuck. what is the best solution for me?
Everything working great but when trying to sync with iTunes it freezes on "Waiting for phone to Sync". Have tried restoring and re jailbreaking phone and again phone works fine but when trying to sync with iTunes, iTunes freezes. Anyone else having sync issues??
Wait up, so, if you updated to 8.1 via Software update means that you've to "Restore Iphone" first?
But then how do you restore your backup without messing up the potentially succesful JB?
You will be asked if you'd like to restore your backup after the upgrade in iTunes. However, you should first install the jailbreak according to instructions and run Cydia once (important!) and only then restore your backup. See my other post.
After doing the jailbreak according to the instructions above, I have the "pangunew" app showing but no cydia.
When I click the pangunew icon, it opens for a second and then closes again taking me back to the springboard.
Crap! It apparently just bricked my iPhone 4S with iOS 8.1. Rehearsed and followed all the instructions to the letter. Pangu8 for Mac said the jailbreak was a success, but iPhone only displays Apple logo briefly then goes black. Is there a way to recover from this? iTunes isn't even recognizing the phone is attached anymore.
Yes - this is the safe way of doing it:
Turn off Touch ID and "Find My iPhone", Reboot and then enable "Airplane Mode". Then jaibreak.
After the reboot open Cydia and let it do it's thing (it will close itself). Reboot once more. Run Cydia one more time - it should starting showing packages. Don't install anything yet!
Now enable Touch ID and Find My iPhone again. Reboot one last time to make sure.
Maybe some of the reboots are a bit redundant but I had some issues with my devices before I followed that protocol.
No, I made it work without getting a boot loop.
This tutorial fails to mention that you absolutely MUST run Cydia once before you can reenable Touch ID and Find Ny Iphone.
I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
I explained a method that worked for me after previously following tutorials that omitted that important step and caused me boot loops - just like this one here on iClarified which also doesn't mention you need to do that.
What did you do to help people except complain about my method?
I have a 4S which I upgraded to iOS 8.1 and now I regret it. I m pretty much very new to jailbreaking. If I were to jailbreak mine, would I be able to somehow downgrade it to iOS 7.1.2? Any ideas would be greatly helpful.
I did jailbreak but I just on the airplane mode. Thats it and it worked. What If I didn't turn off the I cloud? Someone answer my question please because I did it before the tutorial was released. thanks.
I just jailbroke my iPhone 6 on 8.1 with my Mac and everything seemed to go well until it rebooted. The Cydia app just crashes everytime i click on it. The Pangu app opens fine but it doesn't serve much purpose. This also happened when I tried the jailbreak through windows a few days ago. I restored my phone and waited for the Mac jailbreak to come out but i am faced with the same issues. Any ideas out there on how to remedy this would be much appreciated!
I encountered this problem before and the problem was that I accidentally didn't disable find my iPhone. Make sure to do this before you begin the jailbreak as Chris will crash like you said if you don't.
I'm having the same problem as Ferdinand8191, I get an icone called ''pangunew'' but not the Pangu app neither the Cydia.
Help pleae! I'm using iPhone 5s ios 8.1.0 and the new Pangu for Mac
What i'm doing wrong? I follow all the directions and I leaved iTunes opened.
I just wanted to confirm that the additional direction offered by Ferdinand8192 worked for me as well.
I had to restore from my backup and then run Pangu again with iTunes open and it worked. Prior, you just get the 'pangunew' icon without Cydia, and the Pangu up quits unexpectedly.
Oddly, even after restoring the 'pangunew' icon was still there so I just deleted it before re-running the jailbreak. The second time Pangu gave a "Jailbreak Successful" message, unlike the first time when Itunes was closed.
Many thanks, Ferdinand8192.
