Alleged iPhone 6s Geekbench Screenshot Reveals 2.0 GHz A9 Processor, Just 1GB of RAM

Posted August 13, 2015 at 3:05pm by iClarified
A Geekbench system information screenshot, allegedly taken with the iPhone 6s, reveals a 2.0 A9 processor and just 1GB of RAM.

The image posted by Ringer Blue Men also reveals the device is model iPhone 8,2 and runs iOS 9.

Unfortunately, the authenticity of the image can't be confirmed as it would be very easy to fake. Recent rumors have predicted that the iPhone 6s will have 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM but we'll likely need to wait until September 9th to find out for sure.

False, 7,1 was the 6 Plus and 7,2 the 6. Thus it shall be the same this year but with 8 instead.

Some did claim this will have 2gb of ram. Apple wouldn't work backwards like this if they did it before on any device.

iOS handles multitasking differently than android, it's smart about it, apps can set whether they can save its state and resume and reload from that saved state or it it actually needs to be running in the background for like music or downloading things, that way it can free up memory for other apps that your currently using, and it all just depends on which apps are using more memory than others and which apps "need" to be running in the background and which can give up there memory. It's actually really advanced if you think about it. Anyways, benchmarks of iOS and 1gb of ram has always been better than android and it's 2-4gb of ram, so it doesn't matter how much actual ram the next iPhone will have, it's still going to run smoother and perform better than any android phone out there

Guys, this isn't confirmed, the last line even mentions "we'll wait until September 9th for sure". If you think about it though, when it comes to a new iPhone coming out, iPad gets the same chip of the iPhone released that year or a little boost like the a#x chips, but using 1gb of ram would mean Apple would move backwards in which they don't so I wouldn't give my hopes up yet. This article is like reading a concept. Think about it.

I'm still upgrading to 6s plus but Hmm. Right now I'm disappointed in all the leaks with nothing significant upgraded. We are all expecting 2gb already. The 6s plus deserves it and also a true multi tasking environment. 1gb is not enough. I understand that the iphone needs less without a true multitask but still more and more apps run in the background. Seriously and I am very serious, if it has only 1gb ram I will seriously consider just buying a 6 plus as it will be the better value. Then upgrade to 7. 2gb ram is the MINIMUM they need to upgrade the "s" model as it's always been the performance model of the previous. I hope this is fake. For apples sake.

Oh come on Apple users we all know they have been lagging behind Samsung when it comes to the internals. Apple should have up the ram long before now plus we still don't know for sure but it looks like Apple will stay with 1 gb of ram, way to little to late. The current iOS 6's should have been upgraded to at least 2 the of ram. So disappointed with Apple anymore. Seriously considering switching to Samsung

Apple hasn't used any ram because up to now, they reached the point to where they put a ton of power into the chip other than ram, but it makes sense because with another GB of ram, app,e can still make it surely increase better than before, but if you look at both Samsung and Apple phone released different years but both like 2 phones released on the same year for example, the tests from these prove what iPhone always has. iOS never lags even in performance. Say what you want about it believe it or not. Heck just looking at the iPad Air 2 make the phones from other companies the speed of a slug. That's enough to tell how the next chip in iPhone and iPad will be. From the very beginning t was slow but the more new the products get, the more the performance skyrockets and gets better.

Anything like this, can easily be edited, photoshopped, "faked" so we shouldn't pay attention to it at all.. But knowing apple, 1GB might be in for another year.. They have started to suck at innovation since the iPhone 5..

I agree with you, but still going to upgrade from the iPhone 5s 64gb to the iPhone 6s plus 128gb when it comes out
