Mike Pinkerton, leader of the Chrome for Mac team, has announced that there are only 8 remaining bugs blocking release.

“8 remaining M4 Mac beta blockers! Go team! #chrome”. M4 stands for Milestone 4 which will be the first beta release of Chrome.

TechCrunch notes that some features will be missing in the first beta to allow Google to meet its release goal of next month.

Missing features include:
- Bookmark Manager
- App Mode (allows you to run web apps in their own basic browser window)
- Task Manager
- Gears (allows for offline web app functionality)
- Bookmark syncing
- Multi-touch gestures
- 64-bit support
- Full support for extensions
- Full screen mode (possibly)

You can find the list of bugs that still need to be fixed here.
