Hi again - from Costa Rica facing the new 8-digit problem Yesterday I updated my firmware to 1.1.4. Installed the AppSupport patch, but faced the same problem. We would really appreciate if you could also update the patch for 1.1.4 as well. Thanks a lot!

Hello. I'm from Costa Rica and facing the same problem Esteban has. It's all because of the new 8 digit numbers. Before the change, AppSupport 1.1.3 worked like a charm! It would be great if the patch could be updated. Thanks!

Hi I am from Costa Rica (iPhone on firmware 1.1.3) Recently (on March 22), our carrier added an extra digit to all numbers. Im not having problems with the phone´s callerID, however when I receive SMS from people who are my contacts, it seems the iphone does not recognize it, and displays it as +506XXXXXXXX (example: +506-8888-7890) In the past (when there where only 7 digits) I had the same problem, but I installed the AppSupport 1.1.3, and it was fixed!. Now I uninstall it and then reinstall it, but I have no success fixing the sms number. Is there a way to update the AppSupport 1.1.3 file including one additional digit for Costa Rica? Thanks

iphone sg is right, i faced the same prob but the good news is...forget abt the SMS, install iSMS instead. There are many features with iSMS and it is not affected by the appsupport 1.1.3.patch. Get iSMS from source http://iphone.nonsoft.com/repo/

i'm having the same problem quite a few people are having. i get SMS without the ID of the caller/sender. My phone doesn't have a problem what crashing from dialer even though i haven't installed this (dominica). my problem was an issue i had with ziphone where i had to use 2 different versions of ziphone (upgraded to 1.1.4 - accident -> tried ziphone to unlock/jb - didn't work -> tried to downgrade to 1.1.3 -> couldn't change the firmware -> used 2.5 ziphone to jb/activate 1.1.3 -> used 2.4 ziphone to unlock/jb/activate iphone) and so i don't know what to do and what would be safe as in all that took a very long time to accomplish. any ideas on what i can do to get the SMS and ID tags to match up ???

iClarified: Help please! I have installed the Build11 AppSupport with the Regional Format Patch and found out that the SMS contact name matches on my contact list. BUT i found out that when a PCCW (One of many Hong kong Carrier's) user sends me a message, i get 852XXXXXXXX instead of the contact name. All other carrier's are fine except PCCW. Is there a way i can edit the PhoneNumberTemplates for PCCW so that it can match? In the PhoneNumberTemplates hong kong has: hk 852 001;009;0080; - - ######## And here is the AppSupport1.1.2 that worked for me before: hk 852 00 - 0 8 <-PCCW hk 852 00 0 3 8 hk 852 40 0 0 8 hk 852 50 0 0 8 hk 852 70 0 0 8 hk 852 90 0 0 8 How can i edit the PhoneNumberTemplates to the 'PCCW' so that they match? I tried: hk 852 001;009;0080;00038 - - ######## hk 852 001;009;0080; - -;3 ######## But it didn't work. Any ideas?/Suggestions? I'm sure i'm doing something wrong here. Help please

marebgd, take a look and make sure the desired format is included in the PhoneNumberTemplate file. To fix your Fugu problem go to preferences, known hosts, delete the host with your iPhone's IP, click save, click done.
kincas, i am updating the phonenumbertemplate not the patch itself. Version 1.0 corresponds to build 10 of Appsupport.

How can I learn if my country (Czech Rep.) is on a supported list? I have 1.1.2 OTB restored to 1.1.3 and everything works. Would it be necessary to update AppSupport for 1.1.3 with Czech Republic phone number support? (+420 xxx xxx xxx)

"iClarified 2008-02-17 22:30:07 I realized the number format file I originally included wasn't the most up to date file. I have updated the package with the latest file!" But i can see only the version 1.0 Did you change the version number? Tks

i ziphoned my iphone successfully. but as many on this forum got a problem with sms and caller identification. i am from serbia- which is on your list. i installed appsupport patch 1.1.3 from isntaller, but nothing has changed. than i tried to put appsupport manually via fugo, but fugo says "remote host identification has changed". before ziphoning i could connect to iphone via fugu by root/alpine as username/password. could anyone help me? if there is not fix for sms/caller id problem should we restore to 1.1.2? thanx in advance ps i am mac user, if it is of any help

@wombat Yes I did. Or at least I think so. I did first the remove fonts second the ringtones and last the applications. Tried to install another application under installed and got the same problem again. Please what is the forum link for these problems?

@george: did you move ringtones and fonts?
George
George - February 17, 2008 at 5:31pm
@wombat Tnx I tried but still no luck.. I installed though the bosstool sucessfully. I can not understand why some applications actually do get installed and other dont... I am still puzzled why the Ziphone doed not include these simple fixes (if the are indeed simply) I can read for days and not reach a solution.

@iclarified: more and more it appears necessary that you add a) install BSB Subsys. and b) BossPrefs and c) follow the corresponding tutorial before your readers do anything else. Your tutorials are simoly the best on the net, let's keep it that way and include the "little" steps for the not so firm readers.

@George: Look for the tutorial (here) similar to "how to increase space using BossPrefs (by moving Ringtones and fonts to the "media" drive - away from the root drive............... @LuisM and other with Country Code probs: hey, apple has already admitted a problem here. I think it fantastic that a bunch of iphone fans write apps which - in part - even solve original apple problems ;-)) In any case it's worth trying some apps such as the german number fixes, these work surely for other countries as well. This of course providing a) the contacts have a similar saving method (just DO IT, incl. country code) and b) the fitting FIX is used. Of course this is only a temp. solution............................................................................... @iClarified: Prob. the right time to get the below comments at the foot of it's own tutorial, right?
