The Street's Jason Schwarz predicts that come June Apple will decrease the screen size of the iPhone as part of a new strategy to focus on the iPad.
"The iPhone turns into your tethering your device. It turns into your Internet connection. You only have to pay one bill, one phone bill, and all your devices can connect to a 3G and eventually a 4G wireless network. So in effect what the iPhone becomes for Apple is the glue that holds their mobile ecosystem in place."

First of all, this guy is probably putting all his eggs in one app basket. Are we forgetting that there is a device called the Kindle, or iPod touch, or iPhone, or iPod? I don't think that this item will make the market. I wouldn't lug around a giant thing with my phone; I like my screen size on my phone now. If my screen size goes away, I won't enjoy my phone as much. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than the price of an iPod for an iPad because its space is limited, its ability to connect would be way too expensive, and the size of it would be like carrying around my laptop. So why do I need an iPad? And on top of all of this, where is our Mac OSX tablet? Wouldn't that be a leap towards great things, or is Apple just playing the same game? Don't just buy things to put on your table; buy something that will help your productivity.

Well, isn't that contradicting Mr. Jobs himself? https://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=8081

Steve Jobs already said the iPad will not tether to the iPhone. This prediction is lame.

He didn't say you can tether the iPhone to the iPad. I believe you misread/misheard what he said

I think the iPhone screen is already as small as it needs to be, what they need to do is make it thinner, and smaller (not by reducing the screen size, but by reducing the amount of free area around the screen.). Oh and maybe change up the back and use something other than this shiny plastic.

Oh, puh-leaze. All these predictions are just full of crappola. I have no interest in the iPad - leave my iPhone alone.

There are so many different ideas being thrown around, remember the pictures of the Bigger iPhone casing?

Haha, yea. I would be pissed if they made the iPhone bigger in any way. I wouldn't mind if they could slim it down to the thickness of an iPod touch though..

This guy is clearly mistaken! Steve Jobs has already stated that the iPad will not be able to tether onto the iPhone Period!

@DrsZ24 I agree with you 100%!The only argument this guy uses is one of the main things people are complaining about - NO tethering. After all,Steve Jobs announced the next iPhone as an A+ upgrade if I remember correctly. With a smaller screen???Maybe this isn't the whole video,'cos at the end I'd expect this guy to introduce some special offer on kitchen knives or multivitamins - free shipping included!

Hell no, I do not want a smaller screen, it's barely big enough already!
