Apple TV secured seven wins at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards today, taking home top honors across both its film and television slates. The streaming service earned recognition for its blockbuster racing feature F1 as well as the comedy series The Studio, alongside individual acting awards for Pluribus and Severance.
The Joseph Kosinski-directed film F1, which made its global streaming debut last month following a record-breaking theatrical run, won for Best Editing and Best Sound. Starring Brad Pitt as a driver returning to the grid, the film has been a centerpiece of Apple's broader investment in the sport, which also includes a deal to become the exclusive U.S. home for live Formula 1 race coverage starting in 2026.
In the television categories, The Studio was named Best Comedy Series. The show, which follows the chaotic inner workings of a Hollywood movie studio, also garnered two acting awards. Seth Rogen won Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of studio head Matt Remick, while Ike Barinholtz received the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Apple's drama offerings also saw success. Rhea Seehorn won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Pluribus, the genre-bending series from Vince Gilligan. Apple recently released a behind-the-scenes featurette for the show, highlighting the complex production design required to visualize its unique premise. Additionally, Tramell Tillman won Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in the workplace thriller Severance.
These latest awards contribute to a total of 672 wins and over 3,000 nominations for Apple Original content. The company also recently saw success at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards, where Mr. Scorsese won for Best Limited Documentary Series and Best Biographical Documentary.
This recognition comes as the platform settles into its new identity, having been rebranded from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV late last year. All winning titles are currently available to stream on the service.
