Apple Launches Limited Edition 'Year of the Horse' AirPods Pro 3

Apple has launched a special edition of the AirPods Pro 3 to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year. Available in select Asian markets, the Year of the Horse Special Edition features a custom engraving of a horse emoji on the charging case and packaging, continuing the company's annual tradition of releasing zodiac-themed hardware for the holiday.



The limited-edition earbuds retain the same pricing and technical specifications as the standard AirPods Pro 3 introduced in September. Powered by the H2 chip, the earbuds deliver improved Active Noise Cancellation and include the new built-in heart rate sensor for fitness tracking. They also offer up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. The differentiator for this release is solely cosmetic, showcasing a unique horse character icon with a tassel design on the front of the USB-C MagSafe Charging Case.


Customers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia can order the device starting today through Apple's online store and at retail locations. Due to limited supply, Apple is restricting purchases to two units per customer. While orders are open now, shipments are expected to begin on January 8. Apple notes that if the special edition unit requires repair or replacement and stock is unavailable, the company may provide a standard edition model instead.

This launch marks another entry in Apple's series of Lunar New Year exclusives, following previous editions for the Year of the Dragon, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, and Snake. The Lunar New Year officially begins on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

In addition to the earbuds, Apple has curated a collection of exclusive accessories for the occasion.
