Apple has pushed out revised versions of the third developer betas for iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, and watchOS 26.4. The updated software arrives just days after the company initially seeded the third round of testing builds.
For iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4, the new v.2 release carries build number 23E5223k, replacing the original 23E5223f build deployed earlier this week. On the wearables side, the revised watchOS 26.4 beta 3 utilizes build number 23T5226i, taking the place of build 23T5226e.
Apple has not provided specific release notes detailing why the third beta required a sudden revision. Mid-cycle updates of this nature typically point to a critical bug or installation issue discovered shortly after the initial rollout rather than the introduction of new features.
The broader 26.4 testing cycle has already introduced a mix of practical system changes. Earlier builds added testing for end-to-end encryption for RCS chats between iPhones and Android devices, enabled Stolen Device Protection by default, and allowed third-party AI apps to run natively on the CarPlay dashboard.
Developers can download the revised updates over the air by navigating to the Software Update section in Settings on their respective devices.
