Apple has shared a new clip from its series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters," featuring Godzilla in Tokyo. The sequence follows Kentaro, played by Ren Watabe, as he moves through a crowded, fog-filled street when an emergency alert begins blaring from his iPhone, warning that a Titan has made landfall in the city.
People begin to run as Godzilla rises between the skyscrapers and lets out a roar over the city. Fighter jets move in and fire, but the strikes have little effect. In the chaos, Cate (Anna Sawai) appears in front of Kentaro, telling him the monster isn't trying to hurt them, just before Godzilla turns to face Titan X.
It then cuts to Kentaro waking up in his room. The walls are covered with sketches and drawings of the creatures, pointing to the lasting impact of what he's experienced since the first season.
This latest look at the series comes as Apple continues promoting its Monsterverse lineup. The company recently premiered the second season, which shifts part of the story to Kong's Skull Island. To mark the return, Apple also staged a 3,000-drone show over Los Angeles featuring Godzilla and Kong.
"Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" is currently streaming on Apple TV and remains part of a growing franchise that includes a new spinoff series in development.
