Apple has released a statement on the availability of the white iPhone 4.
White models of Apples new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

I don't understand why would the white one be more complicated to manufacture. Isn't it just a color difference? Does anyone know?

white isnt even a color lol no color mixing needed lol whats so hard to make white cases?

Frank, the fact that the materials probably are usually dark and they need to figure out how to make them light could be the problem. Maybe it has something to do with that weird white thing up top too...

The "weird" white thing at the top of the phone is the proximity and the ambient light sensors. It's just camouflaged in the black model...
