October 13: Apple's 'Welcome Home' Launch
Apple has announced a 'Welcome home' launch for Tuesday, October 13. Members of the press have been invited to an Apple Experience in Tribeca, New York, at 9 a.m. Eastern. That's the press gathering time; Apple has not announced a livestream or public presentation time.
The expected centerpiece is a new home hub with a roughly six-inch square display. Bloomberg's reporting describes countertop and wall-mounted versions for FaceTime calls, music, photos, and smart-home controls. The screen would recognize who is approaching or speaking and bring up that person's messages, calendar, and preferred apps, with a guest mode to hide personal information from visitors.
An updated HomePod mini and Apple TV are expected alongside it, with faster processors to support Siri AI. Leaked Apple artwork points to familiar designs and new green and pink HomePod mini colors. The appeal would be a more capable assistant in the living room or kitchen, rather than a dramatically different-looking speaker or streaming box.
For anyone about to buy an Apple TV or HomePod mini, we'd wait until Tuesday. The new hub is a bigger unknown: its price, services, and handling of a shared household will matter more than the novelty of putting Siri on another screen.

LG and Schneider Could Broaden the Home Lineup
The home push could extend well beyond Apple-branded hardware. Apple is reportedly working with LG on a doorbell, smart lock, thermostat, sensors, and cameras. LG would brand, manufacture, and support the accessories, while Apple helps with design and engineering. The products are still expected to be at least a few months away, so an October introduction would not necessarily mean October availability.
Recent code findings suggest tighter iPhone integration, including tap-to-set-up pairing before an accessory is powered on and a nearby-accessory shortcut in the Dynamic Island. Separate Schneider thermostat and sensor references point to another possible participant. These are still leaks, with final features and release dates unannounced.
iPhone Duo: Preorders October 16, Release October 23
Apple's first foldable iPhone starts at $1,999 in the U.S. with 256GB of storage, with 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB options above it. Preorders open Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific / 8 a.m. Eastern. It arrives October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, including the U.S. and Canada, followed by 28 more on October 30.
Duo pairs a 5.4-inch outer display with a 7.6-inch folding inner screen. It ships with iOS 27.1 and layouts designed to make more use of that wider workspace. Apple Pencil (USB-C) support is planned for later this year, so it won't be available at launch.
Before spending $1,999, consider what the larger screen would replace in your day. Our guide to whether Duo can replace an iPad mini looks at the small-tablet question. If you are open to Android, we also compare Duo with the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Around October 27: OLED MacBook Pro and More Macs
Bloomberg now reports that Apple is planning a second launch around Tuesday, October 27, with an online presentation and in-person press gathering aimed at creative professionals. Apple has not announced that event. The reported lineup includes its first touchscreen MacBook Pro models, an OLED iPad mini, and M6 updates to the existing 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac.
The redesigned MacBook Pro would be the bigger change: a lighter enclosure, an OLED touchscreen, and a Dynamic Island in place of the notch. Earlier reporting points to 14-inch and 16-inch versions with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Touch would sit alongside the keyboard and trackpad, giving Mac users another way to scroll, zoom, and interact with apps.
The M6 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac would be separate updates that keep their current designs. That distinction matters if you're weighing a purchase: the newest chip name may not come with the new screen and enclosure. Pricing and delivery dates for the reported models remain unknown.
If your current laptop can last a few more weeks, we'd see what Apple announces. Our MacBook Pro buy-now-or-wait guide explains when an urgent replacement or a substantial discount on an M5 model could still justify buying now.

An OLED iPad mini Is Also Expected
The same October 27 report points to an OLED iPad mini, narrowing the earlier late-October-to-November window. OLED would be the main screen upgrade from the current A17 Pro model's 8.3-inch LCD, making this an awkward time to buy that model at full price unless you need one now.
Leaked code and artwork also point to an A20 Pro chip and a front camera on the landscape edge, while the latest report adds a revamped speaker system. Those changes could make video calls, games, and films more appealing on the smaller iPad. Apple has not confirmed its price, battery life, or release date.

Late October: The 512GB Mac Studio Configuration
Apple has already said the Mac Studio configuration with 512GB of unified memory is coming in late October, without naming a day. The refreshed Mac Studio lineup began arriving in September; buyers who need its highest memory capacity have a longer wait.
What Should You Wait For?
For an Apple TV or HomePod mini purchase, wait until October 13. For an iPad mini, iMac, or optional MacBook Pro upgrade, we'd hold off through the reported October 27 window and reassess if Apple hasn't announced them. A failing work computer is a good reason to buy sooner; an optional upgrade can wait a little longer.
Duo buyers have firmer dates to work with. Decide whether to preorder October 16 or wait to see one in stores from October 23, and check your carrier's eSIM support before ordering.
