Apple Smart Cover Retrofitted for the iPad 1 [Video]

A simple hack to use the new Apple Smart Cover with the original iPad has been demonstrated by "The Russians Used a Pencil".

When the iPad 2 was announced, like most people, the part that I was most intrigued by was the new Smart Cover. I had nearly convinced myself it was reason enough to upgrade, but eventually calmed down and figured it would be wise to wait for the rumored Retina Display. I want the opposite of this. I love my new iPad 2, but want the old case. Unfortunately, there aren't any good cases that are available (on the shelf) yet.

Weird. I absolutely hate the old case. This one is way more functional. What do you like about the old one?

How can you call this a "hack"?

One of the definitions of "hack" is "to alter". ie he altered his iPad 1 to work with the iPad 2 case.
