To print to a shared windows printer from Mac OS X Leopard follow these steps:

Step One
Select System Preferences from the Apple menu at the top left hand corner of the screen.

Step Two
Click to select the Print & Fax icon from the System Preferences window.

Step Three
If the lock icon at the bottom of the Print & Fax Preferences Window is locked click it to unlock the print preferences.

A popup window will appear asking you to enter your administrative username and password. Do this then click Ok.

Notice the lock icon is now unlocked!

Step Four
Click the plus (+) icon to add a new printer.

Step Five
Click to select the Windows tab from the Print & Fax Preferences Window.

Step Six
In the leftmost column a list of the visible workgroups on your network will be displayed. Select the workgroup which contains the shared printer.

Next in the middle column select the computer which is sharing the printer.

Finally select the shared printer from the rightmost column.

NOTE***: You may be asked to enter the username and password required to access the shared pc. Enter this information then check the box Remember this password in my keychain if you would like the password remembered. Finally click the Connect button.

Step Seven
Enter a name for the printer in the Name field. Choose Select a driver to use... from the Print Using Dropdown Menu.

A list of print drivers will appear under the dropdown menu. Select the correct one from the list. You can enter your printer name into the search field to look for it.

Step Eight
Click the Add button to add your printer.

Step Nine
The Print & Fax Preferences Window will now display your newly connected printer! Press Command+q on the keyboard to close System Preferences.

Help!

When i click connect to connect to the windows computer it goes back to the Printer and Fax screen and does not do anything. I think that it is a problem with connecting to shared computers because i cannot just simply connect to my desktop either.
