That 'bar' between the bluetooth and battery icons is for the Apple Bluetooth Headset. The Apple BT shows the battery life in the bar there, and on the display when the phone and headset are being charged.

34 updates? Are you cereal? There are not 34 quality apps on the app store let alone 34 new updates for them all!
