Malcolm Gladwell, a staff writer with The New Yorker, made an appearance at the Toronto Public Library, at which he asserted that in 50 years there will be statues of Bill Gates across the Third World, but nobody will remember Steve Jobs.

I don't understand why some people are getting so upset........as if this article was a personal attack on Apple fanatics or something. It's great that some disagree because makes for great debate opportunities, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not worth getting all worked up about it. Incidentally, I own an iPhone and also disagree with the article. I do think Steve Jobs will be remembered 50 years from now, just not for any sort of humanitarian reasons. He'll be remembered for being a tech visionary and a jerk to work with........like many geniuses.

So what did this guy say that was factually incorrect? What difference does it make who he is? Who are you? I used to despise Bill Gate, now I admire him. He wasn't in it for the money after all. You can't say that about Jobs.

FYI... I have been using Apple products since the Apple IIc and even own the original Cube. I am the biggest fanboy out there for Apple products. I just watched the video posted in this article by an acclaimed writer for the prestigious New Yorker magazine and didn't see anything factually wrong with it. 50 years from now most of us will be dead and I doubt anyone will remember the iPhone. They will however remember who was responsible for eradicating malaria.

Nobody is "jealous" of Steve Jobs. He's dead and died in the prime of his life. None of his billions could buy him more time. Just because people have a different opinion does not define them as jealous.
