Apple has sold out of its first batch of 16GB Wi-Fi iPad minis in both white and black.
The company ran out of supplies of its white version just minutes after launch; however, the black version was still stocked for November 2nd delivery for about a day and half after pre-orders went live.
You can still pre-order the device in black with larger size configurations for November 2nd.

Sorry I couldnt stand walls of text. But from your first question, why people compare other smartphones vs iphones? Because it uses different os?? Aka platform?? When smartphones started to rise, there were ios, widgetos, webos, android beta, and etc. they been compared alot of times. But now webos almost extinct. Also samsung merged into android and etc. now biggest smartphone os's are ios and android. No questioning why people are comparing them both. Also the blame goes to Apple by suing every other smartphone manufacturer. Forcing people to compare them.

Is this a specific Apple marketing strategy?

First batch is always low so they can get this fake news up. Hey we sold out first batch. Fake hype with every product launch.

I hear a lot of negative remarks from proponents of Kindle HD, Samsung tablets, and most vocally Android, that iPad Mini is way too expensive, low screen resolution, and other comparisons, but here is one fact:
-For people who plan to buy an iPad3, the Mini makes perfect sense.
For Apple haters, the performance of the A5 already blew away those 7", 8" tablets so there is no comparison if you want it to be fair. I am sure the benchmarks will come out soon to substantiate my comment. I use different tablets in my household for nobody agrees on any single issue. I benefit from these unbiased experiences.
Money, of course will influence people's purchasing decisions to a great extent, or for some, the ecology, fluidity, and quality of build trumps everything else.

because they have money? why you mad? their money, they can chose whatever they want to buy. and yes before youre asking, most of us who bought the ipad mini already have iphone 5, iPad 3(still thinking about changing to ipad 4), and mac's computer.
ps. and of course most of us are fully aware that ipad mini has an oudated hardware, genius. we just bought it because its small.

so true, im a bit disappointed with apple's move by releasing ipad 4 so early. i think ipad 3 is a mistake and im so pissed of by this. but then again, why you mad. you think you are smart just by not buying an ipad mini? its your called, not others. giving an opinion is a different thing than just bashing by calling other people stupid.
ps. oh, btw, people can judge by our comments to determine how old we are. :)
