Oprah Tweets to Promote Microsoft Surface From iPad

Posted November 19, 2012 at 10:07pm by iClarified
Oprah sent out a tweet to promote the new Microsoft Surface from an iPad, noticed TNW.

I’ve never understood the draw of Oprah, and how her brand managed to become so large, but she does have legions of fans, making her an effective marketing channel for Microsoft. Except for when the narrative around her promotion is tossed on its head by a foolish, and utterly avoidable mistake.

Take a look at the tweet below...

It's not cool to promote something in that manner without telling people that you got paid for it. She should've added "paid by MS" or something like that. Otherwise it looks a lot like a dishonest way to push stuff.

Noticed that she didn't say she'd buy one for herself...only good enough to give away...at a discounted price, obviously sponsored by MS!!! That's cheap Oprah.

Must be nice to be able to afford buying 12 for gifts. The rich really have no clue how the real world works. She should just say it is a great gift idea or something. Claiming to buy 12 sounds like bragging.

Or, maybe she's trying to promote a sense of positivity? Trying to influence her followers to follow her footsteps and to give to others? Maybe, she's just trying to do the "Oprah thing" and actually GIVE with compassion. Only a negative, jealous mind would compute her statement as a measure of "bragging."

In answer to your question because it promotes slave labour & devalues the dollar we should embargo Apple products until they make the ones sold here, here America is becoming a country of salesmen selling things made elsewhere! When Apple went to Brazil they had to make them there not import them

And, what about EVERYTHING else that is made in other countries (outside of U.S. territories). Do you honestly think the device you are using to post on this forum, is made from good 'ol USA? What about the rest of your appliances in your home? Car? Etc. Apple is not the problem.

haha, she might be stupid making that mistake, but at least she's not stupid enough to actually buy one.

Why is it stupid to buy an iPad?
Haha

Ken, he was talking about her lack of stupidity to buy a surface for herself (hence, posting from said iPad and stating she's giving them away).
