How to Get Windows 10 for Free

How to Get Windows 10 for Free

Posted June 20, 2015 at 5:38pm by iClarified
Microsoft has revealed a way for those who don't qualify for an upgrade to Windows 10 to get it for free.

Users on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 will be able to upgrade for free within a year of Windows 10's launch on July 29th. That leaves users on Vista or XP needing to pay for the new operating system. However, yesterday Microsoft revealed that if you install Windows 10 preview (build 10130) using a Microsoft Account that's registered for the Windows Insider program, you'll receive the final version of Windows 10 for free.

Windows Insiders running the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Home and Pro editions) with their registered MSA connected to their PC will receive the final release build of Windows 10 starting on July 29th. This will come as just another flight. I’ve gotten a lot of questions from Windows Insiders about how this will work if they clean installed from ISO. As long as you are running an Insider Preview build and connected with the MSA you used to register, you will receive the Windows 10 final release build and remain activated. Once you have successfully installed this build and activated, you will also be able to clean install on that PC from final media if you want to start over fresh.

Even with that, it's still confusing. I can't even tell what gestures trackpad does half the time like it does what it wants, but don't get me started on tiring to access the toolbar stuff.

10 is more like 10 times worse. Who wants the weakest style with cluttered mess of tiles with not many apps to even find along with the browser that can't keep up? Besides why use to when you have parallels to use 2 OS at the same time. I do that on my Mac.

They already realise that people will not buy Windows 10, so now they will give it away for free...

Wish there was a way to dismiss it for those who never want to upgrade. I'm one of those people. 7 is legend and by far the best. It's as simple as it gets.

yup! and it doesn't have these super ugly tiles and doesn't need a smudgy touch screen to be used...

Exactly! Why reach out when I have a mouse to do the same thing but keep the screen clean? Surface breaks the logic there.

you dont need to touch the screen with windows 10, the tiles are restricted to the start menu, unlike windows 8 you have a start menu, just like windows 7, apps like mail or media player open in windows instead of taking over the whole screen and is a vast improvement on windows 8. Overall 10, in my opinion, is a vast improvement on 7, both in performance and looks. and soon you will need windows 10 to make use of directx 12.
